DICK CLARK STILL GOING STRONG at 80 - Dick Clark Online

We don't see or hear much about
Dick Clark
BUT the man once known as 'America's oldest living teenager' who almost single- handedly carried rock and roll through the ages is very much alive and still putting in his typical long days at work. But other than his brief annual appearances on his New Years Eve ABC program, we seldom see Dick Clark in the news since he suffered a stroke in 2004. Though, today, many of his programs are still running, from 'Rock, Roll Remember' in radio syndication, to his award and game shows. Recently , the Emmys paid a well deserved tribute to Clark . Ryan

No Karaoke Here - OAKLAND'S ALLEY 50 YEARS Strong with Original Piano Player

Last King of the Piano Bars?
Rod Dibble Still Tickling Them 50 Years Later
When one passes by the Alley on Grand Ave in Oakland, CA you hardly notice the place. It's always looked kind of dingy from the outside. Come to think of of it, it's pretty dingy-looking on the inside, too,but the good kind of dingy.

As a kid growing up in Oakland , the Alley was all but ignored as a place for older folks, with a bohemian bent- weirdos back then . Over the years the neighbor hood changed -especially the parallel-running Lakeshore Ave, where perhaps only 1 or two original businesses remain

Hollywood Icons Curtis and Fisher Pass Same Week

Stars Eddie Fisher and Tony Ccurtis Pass Same Week
Two of the biggest Hollywood stars passed within a week of each other, first Eddie Fisher at 82 and then Tony Curtis (aka Bernie Schwartz) at 85. Though Fisher was known more for his singer and Curtis for his acting, they probably became better known in later years for their off screen exploits - following similar life paths winding their ways through ' booze and broads.'

They were both sons of Jewish immigrants and had to overcome the challenges of anti-semitism and poverty, no easy feat for sons of immigrants. As similar

PHIL SPECTOR CASE BRINGS BRINGS MUSIC BACK WITH NEW DOCUMENTARY

GENE PITNEY - EVERY LITTLE BREATH I TAKE click here TINA TURNER - River Deep Mountain High
NEW FILM DOMUMENTARY: The Agony and Ecstacy of Phil Spector
Phil Spector is a pioneer of American music, a legendary producer to John Lennon and Tina Turner, and, as of April 13th 2009, a convicted murderer. REBIRTH, RESHAPING OF ICONIC DRIVEIN

(Editor's Note: In a previous 'life' of this website we promoted 'Saving The Kwik Way,' the iconic 50s hamburger drivein in Oakland , CA where I spent many a good time and hamburgers, going back to when they cost 19 cents. Even tshirts with the moniker 'Save the Kwik Way' seemed to go for naught. Fortunately , vigilant neighbors rejected condominium projects, McDonalds and others to take its place and it just took one right person, and appears Gary Rizzo is the man. So, Kudos to him, though it may be still a bit early to get too excited, but here's the lateston
